The bill for the establishment of the 14th University in Osun State has passed second reading at the Senate. The proposed University is named Federal University of Agriculture and Tropical Studies (FUATS) Iragbiji, Osun State. The Senate on Wednesday 2nd of October passed for a second reading a bill for the establishment of the University which is expected to increase human capacity in the field of Agriculture, particularly, at a time when the Federal government is working assiduously, towards self-reliance in food production. The establishment of this University will add to the existence of 13 other ones in Osun State. Presently, the State has a total of 13 Universities, comprising of federal, state, and private institutions.
