Events unfolding from the grapevine is suggesting that the son of the President Seyi Tinubu, Senator Tokunbo Abiru, former governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and the current Chief of staff to the President Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila are all jostling to take over from Governor Babajide Sanwoolu come 2027. Newstrend’s investigations reveal that Gbajabiala has already set the ball rolling by providing new commuting buses for Lagos students which take them to and from schools every day of the week free of charge! This we learn is aimed at currying the favour of voters and party members ahead of time. His imminent disengagement at the Presidency as the Chief of Staff to the President is said to be part of his grand preparation to enable him have time for proper planning.
In the case of former governor Ambode, we learn he wants to stage a comeback to reclaim his seat which he lost through high power intra-party politics. He is currently gearing for action using his political cronies to galvanize support. The President’s son, some are of the opinion that a more youthful personality with IT modernity will be more suitable for this digital age and that’s where Seyi Tinubu comes in. It is believed he has a deep pocket with which he can prosecute the project aside the massive influence of his father. His supporters cited the Bush’s family of America to buttress the fact that there is nothing wrong with Tinubu being the President and his son becoming the governor of Lagos state. Senator Tokunbo Abiru who is currently representing Lagos East at the upper chambers in Abuja we were told is banking on zoning which he believes wil come in his favour. The race to Alausa has begun and is going to be a battle of the fittest, but ultimately, the pendulum will swing to whom the gods of Lagos politics favour.
