APC Dismisses SDP's Election Allegations as 'Ridiculous and Misleading.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described the allegations made by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate, Bamidele Akingboye, regarding the November 16 governorship election as "unfounded and blatant lies."

It says Akingboye's demand to be declared the winner of the election, despite his party receiving only 438 votes, is seen as "absolutely ridiculous and intriguing." In a release by the Director of Media and Publicity, APC, Ondo State, Mr. Steve Otaloro, the APC said it finds it astonishing that someone of Akingboye's status would make such "shameless comments."

According to him, the election, which was widely observed by local and international organizations, has been adjudged as "the most credible election" in the state's recent history. The APC notes that the election was commended by all election observers, including YAGA Africa, which praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a "great improvement and departure from previous elections"

The APC mouth piece says “the people of Ondo State have spoken through their mandate, electing Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for a second term with an overwhelming 366,781 votes across the 18 local government areas.” The release therefore urges Akingboye to approach the election tribunal with his grievances instead of conducting a press conference to "ridicule the sanctity of this well-acclaimed near-perfect governorship election."

The party thanks the good people of Ondo State for their support and reassures them of Governor Aiyedatiwa's commitment to good governance and world-class infrastructural development as he commences his full first term in office.
