Aso Rock Snubs Mr. Nigeria, Denies him access to Tinubu.

The hope of Oluwanishola Akinbo popularly known as Mr. Nigeria to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to present him with the Nigerian flag and “showcase how much I love my country and my President; and to also demonstrate my patriotism towards my beloved country” according to him; seemed to be shattered at the moment.

Mr. Nigeria had embarked on this fateful journey to Aso Rock Abuja on December 1st from the ancient city of Ibadan Oyo State, precisely from Iwo road and passed through Owena, Akure, Owo, Ikare through Akunnu Akoko to Iyere to Kabba through Lokoja, Abaji, Gwagwalada before finally arriving at Aso Rock on the 15th of December, 2024.

Armed with the Nigerian flag, Akinbo’s determination to meet with President Tinubu to express his patriotism and support for the president for working assiduously to better the lot of Nigerians became his driving force as he was undeterred with the risks and challenges such a journey portends. Day and nights, he was marching on with full determination in the vigor of a patriot.

On his way to Abuja, he made many friends on the road who stopped him to interact and take pictures with him. This includes military personnel, motorists and people from all walks of life. They hail him and commend his effort of selflessness and patriotism.

However, the story changed when he got to the gate of Aso Rock and told the security agents his mission but was denied access by the vicious looking security personnel manning the seat of power. All his entreaties that he had spent fifteen days; walking all the way from Ibadan to meet with the president fell on deaf ears as he was told poignantly that nobody meets with Mr. President without prior booking! Recounting his ordeal to Newstrend the Ogun state indigene said “though things might be falling apart at the moment, I believe there is going to be light at the end of the tunnel.”

Recall that Nigerian citizens in the past; took marathon walk to meet their idols like former President Buhari, President Tinubu and very recently the Afro beats super star Davido, all walking with the sole aim of meeting their hero and paying their obeisance.

Oluwanishola Akinbo a.k.a Mr. Nigeria is still lurking around Abuja as at press time, hoping someone will tell his story to Mr. President to grant him the required access.
