Mental health is a term that has gained a lot of popularity over the past few years. For the right reasons too because more people are getting equipped with the knowledge.
Almost everyday, we see and hear of loved ones struggling with mental breakdown.
Mental health can affect a person’s relationships, physical health and daily activities.
With the daily hustle and bustle in our lives, we often forget to pause and process how we feel.
As we celebrate world mental health day today , here are a few ways you can care for your mental health;

•Give yourself a break
We, Nigerians, are blessed with resilience. We just keep moving.
We know how to shake things off and quickly bounce back. While this is an admirable trait, it is important to remember to take some days off.
Remind yourself that you are doing better than you were yesterday and bask in that pride.
Take time to breath and JUST BE. In our very own words, “na who dey alive dey hustle”.
Work and rest, Always create time for Yourself, Eat Healthy Foods, and Take out time to Exercise your body.
•Surround yourself with people you Love
Life can be a whole lot. It can be really helpful to have a person or two in your corner.
Be sure to keep relationships and people around who make you feel good about yourself and love you in the healthiest ways.
Always have people who share same Motives Just like you, Those who you can Easily get Along with..
You are already passing through alot, you don’t need anymore stress..
•Give to yourself
You’ve been working so hard. You deserve some accolades. You deserve the good things of life.
Bring out that #5,000, Use it to Take Yourself out, nothing will Happen!!!
It could be a cup of ice cream, a book you’ve always wanted, or see a movie on your phone. Just be sure to always give the love you give others back to yourself.
I Don’t Joke with my Sunday Outting, I make sure I take myself out Every Sunday, Have a nice time outside, It can be an Open space, a Restaurant.
Get A cup of ice cream, go swimming.
•Set healthy goals
Goals are necessary in life. A man who has a plan for himself is one who will go far. While goal setting is important, remember to set healthy and attainable goals. Set goals that are realistic.
Write down what you’d like to achieve in each area of your life and write down little steps you can take to get there. Take it one day at a time and do not overwhelm yourself.
•Quieten the insides
Try meditating and/or praying. Relaxation exercises will help you quieten your inside and help you feel calmer.
It takes a lot of strength to ask for help. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It is important to remember that proper care is needed in handling mental health situations. Be sure to reach out to trusted relations or professionals.
Always have that friend that you can always call on to to make you smile, and also be that friend someone can easily call to smile.
Mental health, as you know, is not something to be joked with. If you know someone struggling, please be kind.
